About My Surf Trip Guru I have been the skipper, surf guide, onboard boat manager as well as one of the owners of D'Bora Surf Charters for a decade. From these years of hands on experience, I have a unique first hand knowledge of the elements that make a quality surf trip, the area's waves, seasons and weather patterns and all nuances of travel to this part of Indonesia. No other booking agent can say this. I have a personal and professional relationship with the resort and boat charter operators that I have handpick to work with. All boats and resorts have access to the same waves, but it is our Surf Gurus that will turn a good trip into an extraordinary trip. It is these people that often find themselves in the right spot the day before others arrive and consistently find the best waves with the fewest people. All of the resorts and boats are best suited to my guests and I can personally stand behind them. I have been dedicated to surf travel since learning to surf at the little reefs and beaches of North County San Diego and taking trips to the beaches, reefs and points of Northern Baja as a kid. I took my first surf trip with friends to Costa Rica in 1994 while 17 years old and that set the tone for my life. I have since travelled by van from San Diego to Central America and back twice spending a couple of years there. I have also lived full time in and around the Mentawai Islands in Indonesia for 5 years and part time for 9 seasons. I now have happily put some roots down in Northern Baja and split my time between there and Indonesia. All of this travel and living abroad has led up to this point where I can offer my service and knowledge to other traveling surfers to make their trips to these locations smooth and seamless.
